July 17th was more than the only day iPhone users could acknowledge their calendar emoji. It was the first day on the job at Power 105 for The Voice of New York, Angie Martinez. She recently created a media spectacle upon her resignation from her longtime radio slot at Hot 97. Fans have been showing Martinez love and giving feedback on her new gig. Also, celebrity respect came from Puff Daddy, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys and even a special call from Jay-Z. “You’re not termed the voice of New York for no reason,” said Jay-Z. Martinez rushed him off the phone (yes, she can do that) because she did not want to get emotional. Creatively Driven looks forward to what the Boricua beauty does next; this is an epic day in radio.
